In 1956, Changsha Judicial Bureau set up Changsha Legal Advisory Office, the first lawyers’ office in Hunan province and the predecessor of Furong Law Office.

In 1958, the lawyer system dismissed for political reasons, and the legal advisory office was forced to revoke.

In 1979, Changsha Legal Advisory Office was listed again. Mr. Yi Yanli, the first director of Furong Institute, became the first lawyer after the restoration of the lawyer system in Hunan in 1979.

In 1991, in accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Lawyers decoupling Changsha Legal Advisory Office, the personnel of the former Advisory Office retained the status of state-owned cadres and set up "the First Law Firm of Changsha City", becoming one of the first public cooperative law firms in China. The office is located in the Justice Bureau of Changsha City, Shangde Street, with Yi Yanli as the first director of the firm.

In 1996, the Law of Lawyers was promulgated, according to which the firm was officially renamed as Furong Law Office in Hunan, and was restructured to become one of the earliest state-run comprehensive legal service institutions in the province.

In 2003, Furong Law Office was moved to Overseas Chinese International Building in Helong Gymnasium, with the office area expanded to 500 square meters, and began to transform from traditional business to new business such as finance, investment, real estate and state-owned enterprise reform.

In 2009, it was transformed into a partnership law firm. With the passion and unremitting efforts of 25 years, Furong Law Office has won many honors such as the Provincial Excellent Law Office and the Municipal Excellent Law Office, and it has outstanding ability of a comprehensive law office. It has been widely recognized by the society and highly praised by customers in difficult, complex, cross professional litigation and no-litigation fields.

In 2017, with the rapid development of Furong, it was moved to Wanda International 5A professional office building in Kaifu District again, with the office area expanded to 2000 square meters. With a forward-looking international vision and the cooperation spirit of openness, inclusiveness, alliance advancement, sincerity and win-win results, as well as the management mode of network wide office communication equipment and high humanistic care, it officially opened a new professional and team oriented operation model. Now, Furong Law Office opens a new page again.

In 2019, based on Hunan and Guangdong, Furong has set up branches in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanning, Haikou and other cities according to high standards, and more than 10 branches have been set up at the same time. Dozens of expert consultants and senior consultants have been employed to establish Furong Law and Business School as well as Furong Law Clinic, which were set up to further improve their professional ability and expand their social influence. The number of lawyers is over one hundred , ranking among the top ten in Hunan Province. Furong Law Office has entered a new era in terms of scale, specialization, branding, internationalization and chain.
