Visitation

After a lawyer accepts the commission of a criminal case by client or his/her immediate family, since most of the clients (suspects, defendants) are in custody, visiting the client in the detention center is the first task after intervening in the defense. A successful and professional meeting is the basis for the subsequent effective defense work.

The focus of the meeting work at different stages of a criminal case is different, but there are several aspects that are the same:

(1) Establish a trusting relationship with the client through communication;

(2) Understand the specific circumstances of the case or verify the evidence materials;

(3) Determine the defense plan for the client;

(4) Provide legal advice to the client and guide the client on how to deal with the litigation process in accordance with the law (train the client to be a "half lawyer");

(5) Communicate with the family members and convey the family members' concern and regards to the client.
