what criminal background check the Pubulic Security Department needs

I have been married 5 years and I have been in China 6 years. I own a house in Xinxiang. I have a 3.5 year old daughter. I have a job as a teacher. My wife is Chinese from Xinxiang,Henan. I want to apply for PR and I need to know what criminal background check the PSB needs. Since I live in China would it be the China background check? Or do I need one from the USA?
